The Barasingha, or swamp deer, is a large deer species with a reddish-brown coat and distinctive antlers that typically have 12 or more tines. They inhabit grasslands and wetlands and are primarily grazers. Known for their impressive antlers and graceful appearance, they are occasionally managed for hunting in private reserves.
