Zebu Overview


Zebu, also known as humped cattle, are a domestic bovine breed recognized by their characteristic hump over the shoulders, large dewlap, and drooping ears. They are hardy and well-adapted to hot and arid climates, primarily raised for meat, milk, and draft purposes. While generally domesticated, feral or semi-wild populations can sometimes be hunted on private ranches.
