The Ostrich is the world’s largest bird, flightless, with long legs, a long neck, and distinctive plumage—males are black and white, females are grayish-brown. They are fast runners, capable of speeds up to 45 mph, and feed mainly on plants, seeds, and insects. Ostriches are social, often living in groups, and are hunted for meat, hides, and feathers.
