The Mourning Dove is a medium-sized bird with a slender body, long pointed tail, and soft gray-brown plumage with black spots. The White-Winged dove is similar in appearance, but has white wings on the bottom sides of of its wings. They are highly adaptable and feed primarily on seeds, often foraging on the ground. Known for their morning cooing, they both are some of the most abundant and widespread doves in North America.
