Bongo Overview

The Bongo is a large, striking forest antelope recognized by its chestnut-red coat with 10–15 vertical white stripes and long, spiraled horns found in both males and females (though smaller in females). It is a shy, nocturnal species that inhabits dense forests and relies on camouflage and stealth to avoid predators. Bongos are primarily browsers, feeding on leaves, shrubs, and fruits.
